The University of Birmingham has launched a three-year research project with Bentley Motors to deliver a sustainable source of rare earth magnets for electric and hybrid vehicles. The £2.6m RaRE (Rare-earth Recycling for E-machines) project is funded by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) and delivered in partnership with Innovate UK, and involves six partners who will work together to establish the first end-to-end supply chain of recycled rare earth magnets in the UK. Boeing has renewed its longstanding relationship with the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) with an agreement that will continue two decades of innovation and collaboration for another five years. New targets to eliminate the gases driving climate change from Wales' economy and way of life are to become law. The Welsh Government said "business as usual" was no longer an option.
